For some reason, Kevin Cheng’s web page became Google’s top search result for “cancel Google.” After being inundated by dozens of requests for him to “Cancel my Google!,” he decided to post the clueless hilarity.

Wired Magazine had a great article in a recent issue about a modern-day Cannonball Run, detailing Alex Roy’s “crazy dream: to beat the legendary Cannonball Run record by crossing the country [by car] in under 32 hours and 7 minutes.”

G.I.J.O.E.?!
Portland Studios compiled a short history of G.I. Joe, the action hero that later became a popular ‘80s TV show. What pisses me off is that the latest incarnation has supposedly been rebranded as G.I.J.O.E.:
G.I. JOE, meet G.I.J.O.E., which stands for “Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity.” The “entity” is not located in the USA, but in freedom fighting Brussels Belgium. Presumably, they squeezed the G.I.J.O.E. headquaters somewhere between the NATO offices, EUROCONTROL, the European Comission, and the Council of the European Union.
This sucks! I fully agree with retired army Col. David W. Hunt, who said “G.I. Joe is not an international hero. That’s crap.”

Commodore 64 Turns 25
The Commodore 64 turned 25 years old this week! I fondly remember playing computer games and learning to program on the C64, although technically I had the slightly more advanced Commodore 128.
Many news outlets and web sites have stories about this milestone, including CNN, Slashdot, MetaFilter, and Wired.
Man, this makes me feel old…
