Did George Lucas change cinema with Star Wars prequels?

Kevin McLeod makes some interesting arguments in defense of George Lucas’ Star Wars prequels, but I’m not buying it.  As one commenter at Boing Boing put it, “I love radically reinterpreting bad and/or cliche film without any regard to the actual content of the film.”
