PBS Caught Faking Fireworks During ‘Live’ Fourth of July Celebration
Watching on TV last night, it was pretty obvious to us that very few of the fireworks shots were live given the very low cloud ceiling. After the initial couple of fireworks were shown, I was surprised that they decided to go through with fireworks at all, honestly. (For those of you that aren’t from the area, the National Park Service had been mulling the cancellation of fireworks all weekend, delaying their decision to just before the show in a baffling bit of procrastination.)
I don’t think this points to some larger conspiracy theory, but I’m also a bit unhappy that PBS rationalized their choice (and lack of disclosure during the broadcast) as “the patriotic thing to do.”
