Which Advice Quote said by Homer Simpson are You?

Homer driving asleepHere’s mine:

“Lisa, if you don’t like your job, you don’t strike. You just go in every day and do it really half-assed. That’s the American way!” Well, you’re really really lazy. You manage to get by, but you never put any effort into anything you do. You most likely enjoy watching TV, sleeping, eating, and doing stuff of the sort. Get active. You’re a fat, lazy idiot.

OK, that’s not exactly right, as there was no mention of beer, but not too far off either. 😉 Which Advice Quote said by Homer Simpson are You?

France Bans “E-mail” From Vocabulary

I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised to hear this, especially after France named the “@” symbol “arrobase” last year, but this is still kind of stupid. CNN reports that “linguistically sensitive” France is now using the term “courriel” to refer to electronic mail in official documents, banning the more common, colloquial use of the word “e-mail.” More than likely, this will just be a lip service change, according to some people in France:

Marie-Christine Levet, president of French Internet service provider Club Internet, said Friday. “E-mail has sunk in to our values… Protecting the language is normal, but e-mail’s so assimilated now that no one thinks of it as American,” she said. “Courriel would just be a new word to launch.”

Aha, so that’s it! It’s all a conspiracy of dictionary makers… 😛

2003 Dodge Tomahawk Motorcycle

Dodge TomahawkApparently, this has been out for some time, but it’s the first time I’ve seen it. The 2003 Dodge Tomahawk motorcycle concept seems to be distinctly inspired by the lightcycles from Tron. The motorcycle is powered by a 500 horsepower Viper V-10 engine (!), can “reach 60 miles an hour in about 2.5 seconds,” and needs four independently suspended wheels to handle the power of the engine. Pretty damn cool, although I doubt it can do 90 degree turns like the lightcycles can… :-p

The Onion’s A.V. Club Interviews Sir Mix-A-Lot

The OnionThe Onion is one of the most consistently hilarious sites out there, but hopefully you all know that by now. Their A.V. Club actually does “serious” journalism, with insightful reviews and interviews covering cinema, music, video, books, and more. Still, I’m glad to see that in their recent interview of Sir Mix-A-Lot they couldn’t resist this tongue-in-cheek zinger: “You were one of the first popular entertainers to talk about asses in a sexual way, whereas that happens all the time now. Do you feel validated by the current focus on asses?” Classic.
