The Onion’s “Innovative Products” are pretty funny…
DrikoLand RSS Feeds
I don’t know whether anyone is actually keeping track of this, but I thought I’d let you know anyway. I’m now generating two RSS feeds, an Atom feed through Blogger (which used to be an RSS 0.91 feed) and an RSS 2.0 feed through Feedburner. Both of them have graphical links in the left sidebar for future reference.
MP3 Of The Moment
My latest MP3 Of The Moment is a tribute to Thurl Ravenscroft, who passed away last Sunday. Enjoy his rendition of You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch , from the classic 1966 cartoon How The Grinch Stole Christmas.
Poop On Ryan Seacrest
In honor of tonight’s American Idol finale, I figured I’d let you know about the Poop On Ryan Seacrest contest, which reportedly offers $50 to the first person who takes a dump on Ryan Seacrest’s star on the Walk Of Fame in Hollywood. I can’t make this stuff up…
Thurl Ravenscroft Dead At 91
The Orange County Register reports that Thurl Ravenscroft died Sunday from prostate cancer at the age of 91. Thurl Ravenscroft was best known for his voice, and lent his considerable talent to familiar characters like Tony The Tiger, among many others. Former Disneyland president Jack Lindquist said that “Disneyland wouldn’t have been, and wouldn’t be, the same without him,” as his voice was present not only in attractions like Pirates of the Caribbean, the Haunted Mansion and the Enchanted Tiki Room but also in the movies Cinderella, Dumbo, and Lady and the Tramp, to name but a few. He will definitely be missed…
Professor Frink Rules!
I’m pretty sure I linked to The Definitive Frink before, but if not I should have. I mention this because I came across another tribute to Professor Frink of The Simpsons, Frink Rules!, which is a treasure trove of sound and image files.
Deion Sanders Hot Dog Express
There are many things that I want to say about the Deion Sanders Hot Dog Express, but I will bite through my tongue and suppress them. WTF?!!
Learn to Dance With Napoleon Dynamite
Check out the Flash video Learn to Dance with Napoleon Dynamite. Sweet!
4815162342
If you’re a fan of the TV show Lost like I am, then you might enjoy the website 4815162342, which explores in gory detail every reference to the series of numbers that has appeared several times in the show. The page might be a bit much, but there’ve obviously been several deliberate references to the numbers, so I’m sure that they will prove to be significant somehow…
Google Portal?
Search Engine Watch reports that “Google has unveiled a new service that allows people to consolidate various Google features they use, ranging from web search to email, into a personalized home page.
If you already have an account at Google, you should be able to log in and personalize your page at the personalized home page area here. You can customize most of the options with your zip code, and you can drag and drop the different components on your page to your liking. It seems pretty cool, and it’s obviously in direct competition with "portals” like Yahoo. I predict that once more of Google’s “beta” features are integrated into this service that it will be a formidable competitor…
