We Don’t Care What You Say, George: Han Shot First!
In a recent interview, George Lucas has gotten even more delusional than usual:
The controversy over who shot first, Greedo or Han Solo, in Episode IV, what I did was try to clean up the confusion, but obviously it upset people because they wanted Solo [who seemed to be the one who shot first in the original] to be a cold-blooded killer, but he actually isn’t. It had been done in all close-ups and it was confusing about who did what to whom. I put a little wider shot in there that made it clear that Greedo is the one who shot first, but everyone wanted to think that Han shot first, because they wanted to think that he actually just gunned him down.
This is wrong on so many levels, as the original post points out. Lucas’ insistence that he should be allowed to present his vision of Star Wars is all well and good, but on this point he is dead wrong.
14 Years of US Weather – May 2, 1997 – Dec 31, 2011
Gizmodo posts:
This video was stitched from 120,900 different frames of radar images to make up the 14 years. You got to love seeing the weather dance with the piano. Also fun: finding specific days in the past 14 years (Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Ike, etc.) and seeing what the weather on that day looked like. The whole video is about half an hour long, there are worse things to watch.
