GOOD Sheet has a very informative timeline detailing the The First 100 Days of every president from FDR on.

The Daily Beast attempts to answer the question Which President Is Obama?":
The historical comparisons--Kennedy, FDR, Clinton--to the President-Elect and his transition have become a flood. One sign: they now stretch to Martin van Burden. Six of the more strained comparisons to the 44th president.

Salmon Seas

Carl Warner's Foodscapes really are amazing pieces of culinary art.

I can't believe they didn't air this yesterday; hilarious!

The guy that wrote the Runnin' With The Devil soundboard had a lot of fun... :-)

Europe's continental divide

It never occurred to me that Europe has a continental divide, but Strange Maps unearthed a nice map depicting the divide.

It's a little late, but Fimoculous.com's authoritative compilation of 2008 End-Of-Year Lists will keep you busy for a while. Google Zeitgeist 2008 is also pretty interesting.

Popular Mechanics' list of the 10 Tech Concepts You Need to Know for 2009 is pretty interesting.

Abduzeedo has a nice post titled The Star Wars Culture:
Visiting big sites such fffound, Flickr and others, it becomes really obvious how huge Star Wars culture is. This is a friggin' endless source of inspiration.
Check out the post, which has a huge amount of Star Wars-inspired images, artwork, and more. Awesome. :-)

The New York Times does some hard-hitting reporting on the phrase "Meh."

dipity's Internet Memes timeline is pretty impressive.

Star Trek actors with Space Shuttle Enterprise

Air & Space Magazine has a nice feature of the Top NASA Photos of All Time. The one above isn't the best photo, but it's certainly one of the most amusing.

As those of you among my dwindling readership may have noticed, I haven't been posting much lately. The most obvious reason for that is that I am kept pretty busy with the addition of twins to the family (see the somewhat more frequently updated family blog Casa Chornopeckyj). Of course, I had been pretty lackadaisical about posting even before the twins' birth, but that's another story. ;-p

For those of you who who are reading this via an RSS reader, you'll notice that Feedburner splices in daily updates of sites I've bookmarked/tagged in delicious, which gives at least the appearance of some activity on the site. At one point in the past, I had been using delicious to automatically create daily posts on the blog itself. This received mixed reviews, as it consolidated all of the day's bookmarks into a single post, making it confusing to comment on a single site. Well, a decision on whether I should revisit this is a moot point, as it seems that the service is just not playing nice with Blogger. The previous kludge I had used before no longer works, and all of my Google Fu has produced no usable results.

Anyway, I'm going to try and post more, even if it's just short link posts. I have a decent backlog of things I'd like to post, but once those are exhausted we'll have to see whether I have enough time to find interesting new stuff to post.

In the meantime, I suggest subscribing to the DrikoLand RSS feed if you haven't already done so. As I mentioned above, you'll at least see my daily delicious bookmarks and any flickr photos that I've uploaded. Of course, you won't have the opportunity to appreciate DrikoLand's elegant web design, but there are downsides to everything... ;-)
